Just a little art post for you today. I am excited to share some pics of the TerraBeast sculpture and a few process pics.
This has certainly been the most challenging sculpture so far. To actually create this sculpture so that it works in game meant that the dimensions had to be perfect with very little wiggle room. We had a lot of different problems to solve in building this model. In particular, she had to be quite a bit wider that the original design so that the playable surface works, we also had to figure out a way to hide the sharp line between where the surface meets the TerraBeast's side.
After playing around with many different versions, I opted for a more stylized surface pattern with a scalloped edge that would meet the playable ground in a more organic and stylized way, eliminating the hard horizontal line.Â
The previous update gave you a little sneak peek of how she looks in the game. The next step for her is some animation to bring her to life!
